TransPak Helps In The Reforestation of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forests

On July 19, 2019, a powerful windstorm swept through the state of Wisconsin, causing extensive damage to both public and private lands, affecting vast terrain. Notably, the Lakewood-Laona ranger district bore the brunt of this natural force, with approximately 130,000 acres left scarred.

Through TransPak’s collaboration with One Tree Planted and other organizations, a total of 489,500 trees were successfully planted, revitalizing a collective expanse of 232.70 hectares across the Chequamegon-Nicolet District, the Lakewood-Laona Ranger District, and the Washburn Ranger District.

The tree planting occurred in wind-damaged areas that helped to restock the land and provided the forest with a different species of tree to alter stand structure and diversity. This endeavor of reforesting National Forest lands in the aftermath of severe wind events and timber harvests has helped stand as a paramount mission for TransPak. It has played a pivotal role in establishing a resilient and productive National Forest, safeguarding its vitality for both the current and future generations.

At TransPak, sustainability is fundamental to the way we do business.
